Q&A
Q: If lighting is the most important technical aspect of any application, how do I create contrast between the feature of interest and the background?

A: You need to exploit the four optical properties that make your feature of interest significantly different from the background:
1. Shape
2. Surface texture
3. Color
4. Translucency
Backlighting provides the highest contrast and therefore the most accurate lighting technique.
